A am a qualified UK RYA approved Coastal Skipper. In the days I qualified you had to be able to draw surface pressure maps from the stations reading around the UK, interpret the pressure map, make weather predictions, assisted with tidal information in the sea area you are in, generally be your own weather man independent of other external sources. If the pressure data was unobtainable, you just had to use your own observations from wind strength and direction, humidity measurements, visibility determination, barometer readings, and observed cloud formations. As with aircraft pilots getting it wrong could have consequences and one was tested on it thoroughly.

I don't know when you last checked your books one greenhouse gases, but WATER VAPOUR is a much more powerful greenhouse gas then Carbon Dioxide.
I gave you a very clear, robust example of WATER VAPOUR acting as a powerful green house gas, that can be replicated and tested by anyone. You know... real science, not bs from "experts" and crappy useless models that predict what the fund raisers want to see. I can give you recent examples by the boatload on crappy models that lie. If the observers in the cloud cover experiment suggested had a thermometer handy, they could even measure and record the air temperatures during the changes. It's already been done in case your wondering. |
