Yikes!

Meanwhile, the drought watch continues here in BC

The biennial Ft. John Air Show, in the NE corner of the province, was scheduled for August but has been cancelled due to concerns about smoke grounding the planes plus the airport being commandeered to support fire fighting efforts.

The BC Winter Games, this year being held about halfway up the province in Quesnel, have had to cancel most of the skiing events due to lack of snow.

And BC's farmers are begging for help due to five straight years of extreme weather events, the latest being this drought plus the record cold snap last month killing the buds that were supposed to provide this year's crop.

And reports are starting to come in of the unprecedented number of zombie fires that made it through the winter due to lack of precipitation to put them out. They are already starting to flare up way ahead of our fire season.
