While this is a terrible and totally unacceptable situation, let’s not forget that animal abuse is by no means limited to the US / Mexican border region. It’s a never ending global problem and it’s certainly not limited to so called “third world countries”. It’s happening right in front of our eyes in the so called “developed world”. From puppy mills to thousands of individual daily animal abuse cases.

Our local shelters are full of to some degree or another abused animals desperate for a safe home and yet, what do most people do? They buy sinfully expensive dogs and even cats from purely in for the money breeders. I meet people like this regularly as I always ask, when meeting other dog owners, where they got their dogs from. It’s a 9 to 1, 8 to 2 at best, ratio between breeders (of sorts) and rescues.

The 8 or 9 “majority” tends to avoid a second meeting as my commentary during the first meeting tends to not be to their liking.
