I'm in mourning. It was just announced that the cold snap last month has killed around 97% of the buds that were supposed to provide this year's crop of grapes in BC.

I normally buy about 40-50 lbs. of grapes as the season ends and keep them in the fridge, where as long as you keep an eye on them for mould, they are good to eat, albeit ever more raisin-y, for up to six months.

This purchase used to be made in early December, but climate change has pushed it forward until last year it was made in October. What am I going to do next winter if there are no grapes?
