What I like about Bald and bankrupts Russian travels (he has been chucked out of Russia now for his reveal of the Russian version of the Space Shuttle) is his "off the cuff" interviews of Russian citizens. Some respond spontaneously, others... usually older... do a mental check and then come up with suitable diplomatic, but appropriate, answer. I guess the fear of the gulag still remains.

When you add that evidence to everything else I have said from Graham Majin, the Patriot Act, and the rest, it is not a pretty picture. We are entering the gulagverse unless something significant else happens.
