Actually, America has become 2 very different countries, Kirk. This isn't a political board, so only a brief reply before we get back on topic.
CA was filled with nice places to live, a long time ago. Lifetime friends relocated there, to Oregon, Mass., New York, etc. during & after college (early 60s to early 70s). Kept in touch & they outlined how intervening decades witnessed CA & other Blue States steady decline into todays woke, crime infested, self destructive, miasma. No offense intended. But, you couldn't pay me enough to live in any of those states.
