I won't claim to love my dog more than peter, Ella sounds like a wonderful girl. It was peter's idea to give us this thread and I think he does deserve our thanks.

Honey whines, but only for her BALL. We have taken to hiding it in the spice cupboard. The reason we have to do this is our own insensitive noses. We bought a small hard rubber ball for throwing outside, it goes a long long way. The ball was scented to smell like coconut. We quickly realized that the ball would be found anywhere we put it by smell alone, and the smell would lead to the whine. Now, she knows where we keep it, but the tantalizing smell of coconut doesn't drive Honey wild. She still sits on the kitchen floor and looks longingly at the cupboard, but she doesn't whine.
