Tenchusatsu,

I believe there were at least two occasions when all life on Earth was threatened. One was Snowball Earth when all the oceans froze up and the albedo of the planet was closest to 1. The second when there was a major asteroid strike. From memory there were several extinction events from asteroid strikes.

In both cases it is thought life in the deep ocean hydrothermal vents kept things going. When conditions improved life was able to spread across the planet once again.

In the case of low CO2 its actually fairly straight forward to create the experiments and determine the levels where problems occur with low CO2. Work on the subject has already been completed.

and those papers were from the most briefest of scans. I expect there is plenty more out there. 200ppm is problematic, 150ppm major problems.

At 400ppm were have a comfortable cushion in place, and it's unlikely to be a problem. Agreed. A higher CO2 level in the atmosphere may actually be a good thing from a planet "greening" point of view.

I can see from you previous messages you are "on the ball" regarding the Climate Change subject. Given your background, not surprising.
