Wharfie, I saw a review of one of those things on YouTube. (I don't feel like searching for it, though.)

The reviewers kind of liked it, but they said that clothes didn't come out as dry as they hoped. They got around it by shaking out the clothes a bit when removed.

I like the engineering concept of a washer-dryer combo powered by a heat pump, though. Essentially the dryer part is a concentrated dehumidifier, where both sides of the heat pump (the compressor and the cooling coils) work to pull moisture out of the clothes.

It certainly is a smarter way of drying clothes than via traditional means, i.e. blowing a hair dryer into a spinning drum. Just gotta think about the cost, though.
