Riley, 22, was discovered dead near a lake on the University of Georgia campus on Friday. Ibarra, 26, entered the U.S. in El Paso, Texas, in September 2022. Riley was an undergraduate at the University of Georgia before transferring to the nursing program at Augusta University. Ibarra now faces multiple charges, including malice murder. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has called for Ibarra’s execution, stating, “Deportation is not enough. He deserves the death penalty.” Eighty-one percent of voters class the current invasion of the United States as a “serious problem.”
