I HATE what Apple is doing to their computers. OSX is still the best... but soldering in SSDs just sucks. Worse you're stuck with it even on Macs that can have 2 SSDs but only have one. No adding last I looked.

Yes - also consider:

I had a scare recently with my MacBook - all my fault, the laptop got damaged and I had some hard to reproduce information that wasn't backed up and one possibility was to remove the SSD and pop it into an external adapter. But of course the SSD is soldered in.

Fortunately after a few iterations, I was able to fix the laptop - I actually got somewhat proficient at removing the @$#% shell - and it's usable again so I was able to (duh) back up the information and I don't have to buy a new 'puter.
