Eric, I just saw this post of yours, and it reflected some of my thoughts regarding gas stations vs. EV charging stations.

The bottom line is this: It takes longer to charge an EV than it does to refuel an ICE vehicle.

That means EV charging stations will have to do more in order to serve the needs of their customers vs. traditional gas stations.

Perhaps it's partnering with a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner.

Perhaps it's providing customers with a place to lounge about, or work remotely via WiFi, or play games, etc.

Perhaps it's setting up a bar (alcoholic or juice) and serving drinks, or desserts like frozen yogurt and boba tea.

No matter what, though, the costs of setting up a charging station and the barriers to entry are much, much higher for EV charging stations than they are for gas stations.

And that will have to be part of the consideration as governments start coercing (or even forcing) us into lifestyles that center around EVs.
