The actual technical reasons for the problems were noticeably absent from the conference call. There was an oblique reference to chemistry. Lev said something like that making a 1000 liter batch of chemicals for coating is not the same as making a good 1 liter batch. This may be the problem that they're having.

I think the company is not forthcoming with information for three reasons:
1) They're vying for time. It's taking much longer than they're willing to admit to produce an acceptable battery. They've tried to keep stockholders from abandoning the stock while they feverishly work out the bugs. "If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all", as most mothers have told us.
2) To admit problems and to be too specific about them gives the competition an edge in marketing.
3) With too much negative news, the stock suffers and some of the insiders are major shareholders.
