Eric,
Actually there is an employment force multiplier effect.
That holds true when jobs are created in the private sector through the free market.

But when jobs are "created" through government stimulus or mandates, more often than not that actually creates a drag on the economy.

Because instead of winners and losers being picked by the market, they are instead picked by bureaucrats.

And these bureaucrats will focus on nothing more than making the numbers look good.

Or blaming the "other side" when the numbers don't look good.
