JFQ, re Mkt/war: My guess is lil' attn-span blip. And per "MrB", Mar 2 sounds ok. But...jeez, (I hate to bring up second thoughts in the face of war footage and stuff), if the "Arab World" isn't really convinced this is the right approach, I'm curious. And a bit worried. As a matter of fact, I don't like it.
I've been aware of Iraq's tactics since first seeing photos of villages exterminated on the Iranian border, when our concern and role was more...sleazy and lazy and even appreciative; and these weapons in the hands of "anyone" scare me; and I think they should be exterminated, but it could be, could be, foolish to proceed now, right away soon. I don't like the looks of it. Advocating caution and intelligence, cleverness, instead of simplification and largesse. The world really IS looking to us for leadership on this, not just Uncle-ing.
In some ways, we might as well attack France and Germany for their role in these countries armaments, technology, and reactors; and then the U.S.
We can't outsmart Iraq? We can't outsmart them by "facing issues" and the concerns of their neighbors?
This will turn into a tarbaby. We're not doing our due diligence. It's a bad investment. I want more from the government. Better brain. I also don't want to lose our people and their innocents over an opportunity to do better; and I think bright people could still solve the weapons problems.
Maybe.
If they worked for me, that's what I'd tell them to do.
