5) New Shockwave Downloads include the Flash Asset Xtra!
==========================================================
Last month, we told you about Smart Shockwave, the "Get
Shockwave" button that allows users to automatically install
and play the most current version of Shockwave without ever
having to leave the intended Web site or banner ad. You can
find the code to create this button at
macromedia.com

Now, when your users download the latest version of the
Shockwave plug-in, it will include the Flash Asset Xtra
(playback version only). They will be able to automatically
see Flash animations within Shockwave Director without any
additional installations.

If your end-users already have Shockwave installed, they can
easily install the playback only version of the Flash Asset
Xtra by going to:
macromedia.com

Developers will use the author-time version of the Flash
Asset Xtra to bring in vector-based graphics, animations and
text into Director. Animate beautiful, vector-based,
anti-aliased text; control nearly every Flash movie property.
Play, Rewind, Step forward or backward through the Flash
movie. Rotate it. Scale it. Adjust quality setting and turn
sound on or off. Render direct-to-stage or composite with
other sprites. For more information about authoring with the
Flash Asset Xtra, please visit:

macromedia.com

Vector-based Flash movies break the bandwidth barrier with
super-compact animations, buttons, advertising banners,
logos, maps, and cartoons that can stream locally or from
the Web.

For a walk-through tutorial, sample movie, and to view the
Read Me file, check out:

macromedia.com

Xtra, check out DOUG at:
