That is because the flu shots (up to 2019 for sure) were standard medications with no outlandish harm rate.
Both my parents, as elderly people, got annual flu shots.
So, yes, no complaints, although I myself will not be getting any flu shots. When it comes to the immune system my view is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

What was going on at the time in 2020 was clearly not right, and the more the politicians spouted (they are not doctors) the less I believed them,

I found it hard to fully believe Dr Z when he said "it's the worst crime" etc. But decided to follow his advice after I read some other sites.
Looks like he is right though. I learned long ago that the best way to get out of a hole in the ground is to stop digging downwards. It's a weakness of the human race, and worthwhile to overcome.
There is a massive commercial interest set up to misdirect people, and that becomes obvious after a while.
