We enjoyed our ICE cars decades ago.

Ahhh, the smell of unburned hydrocarbons in the morning!

Worked partway thru college as an auto mechanic in the early 1970's but quickly realized a few years later (working on my BSEE) that they would not be long for the world.

We only needed just two things for a practical BEV back then.

Good high voltage, high current pass transistors for the inverter and good high energy dense, high cycle life battery cells.

We have both in spades today!

No ICE vehicle is as efficient as a BEV.

Or as cheap to drive on electrons!

No contest...

I still have fun working on my neighbors 327.

What's that old saying??

CID and CFM!

I tune up his car every year!

Compression test, whip out my timing light.

Sand blast the spark plugs and then re-gap them.

Points, rotor and condenser...
