People are not more easily fooled today. They were much more easily fooled in the past.

Think of Europe.

For thousands of years Europe was a hot bed of wars, with everyone constantly fighting everyone else.

Just the last century almost 100 million people died in wars.

Now we have 32 countries in Europe and the idea of them fighting each other is so remote that they don't even bother to protect their borders, and they are all democracies!

I watched the video koan. The intellectual sophistication gained is of little use if it's not attached to the basics.

As golfer72 pointed out, people are more easily fooled today.
