Mike Lindell's MyPillow Empire Crumbles as He Pivots to Election Claims Legal Fund (msn.com)

Story by Jacob Miller
12h

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, a fervent promoter of discredited election fraud claims, is now seeking public support to maintain his legal battles against voting machine companies. The former millionaire, who once poured his wealth into spreading conspiracy theories after the 2020 presidential election, is facing a dire financial predicament with MyPillow suffering and multiple defamation lawsuits looming.

Lindell’s latest efforts to solicit funds come amid his ongoing fight against the use of electronic voting machines, which he has unfoundedly asserted were central to a scheme to prevent Donald Trump from winning the 2020 election. Despite courts and independent experts debunking such allegations, Lindell has remained steadfast, directing considerable resources from his business and personal fortune towards these claims.

He urged viewers to contribute to the Lindell Offense Fund, assuring that the money would be used solely for his election-related campaigns and not personal expenses. He has targeted the fund’s resources towards legal fees and efforts such as monitoring devices for voting machines, as well as a lawsuit in Shasta County, California, challenging a state law that restricts hand-counted ballots.

Lindell’s battle with electronic voting systems, while garnering some support, has also led to substantial financial losses. His company MyPillow lost $100 million due to “massive cancellation” as major retailers pulled his products from their shelves following his controversial election fraud allegations.

Beyond financial woes, Lindell’s legal team has also shown signs of strain, with lawyers seeking to part ways due to millions in unpaid fees. Despite these setbacks, Lindell refuses to settle with the voting machine companies, even if it risks bankrupting MyPillow. His persistence underscores his commitment to the cause, although it comes at a substantial cost.

The defamation suits represent just a portion of the mounting challenges facing Lindell. He has resorted to slashing the price of his products in “super sales,” attempting to bolster MyPillow’s financial health, and has publicly criticized Republican officials whom he perceives as obstructing his mission to transition to paper ballots.

Lindell’s situation exemplifies the potential consequences of promoting unfounded claims within the political sphere, as he grapples with a tarnished brand image, dwindling business prospects, and an increasingly expensive legal ordeal.
