It's taken two average incomes to be middle class for a long time. I don't see the middle class as poorer since that shift due to the offshoring of union jobs to China started taking place under Regan. The two political parties will continue to take turns in power, because when one gets control of power they never do what they said they would do. It's an endless cycle.
