Is he normalizing the idea that we'll have a green economy this century? Yeah. When we get there, it will be the new normal.

Extreme Temperature Diary- Thursday March 21st, 2024/Main Topic: Biden’s New Historic Car Emissions Rules – Guy On Climate

Dear Diary. News broke yesterday that the Biden Administration would be rolling out historic car emission rules for domestic automobile manufacturers. These are designed to hasten our transition to electric vehicles and lower carbon emissions. Already these new rules are causing quite the political controversy. Right wing conservatives are calling foul, accusing Biden of outlawing fossil fuel engines. Although I wish that was so, I realize that in order not to hurt middle-class people we need a transition. It must be quick to avoid more harm to our climate, though. The left is crying foul, suggesting that Biden has caved into automobile manufacturers and fossil fuel interests by creating loopholes in new mandates.

Since I’m left on the issue of emission mandates, thinking that sacrifices by all need to be made to stymie carbon pollution, here is a new article from the Conversation on these new rules:
