Why I have been a lifelong Democrat:

The Democratic party is the political arm of the worker fighting off the rich and powerful.

The Democrats did not start the trouble, the rich did 100 years ago when they forced slave labor and so unions needed to rise up to get fair pay, and safe working conditions.

And the Democrats are also the only force largest enough to fight the GOP to establish unions, and needed social programs like the New Deal.

And thank god they are there! Thank god FDR rose to the occasion.

For 100 years since Harding, Coolidge and Hoover, the Democratic party, the party of the workers, has had to fight the rich and powerful who do not want to pay taxes to support our society.

And since the 1964 civil rights act when the southern racist Dixiecrats fled to the Republican party and helped the rich and powerful, they have been gaining ground on the worker with increasing their portion of the countries wealth.

And it has been dramatic, with tax cut after tax cut for the wealthiest.

The entire deficit is the result of those tax cuts.

Today income inequality is very very bad and has pushed us back into a new Gilded Age.

What is The Gilded Age simple definition?

The definition of the Gilded Age is a time of great political corruption and wealth inequality in the late 1800s. The Gilded Age's history is characterized by rapid economic growth, a flood of immigration, and scandalous politics.
