I need to see what the square footage is for their new warehouses and if they own or lease those buildings.

Have had a remodel planned for an ADU (Accessor Dwelling Unit) w/ architect but have not committed to the work yet. May sell w/ approved plans and move my vacation home to something at/near the coast. Currently this home is in Silicon Valley so the real estate (in the land) is worth a lot.

Or just do nothing. I have a youngster friend who may be interested in heading up the project. He is currently in the business (construction management) but may be too busy w/ his full time job.

We are seeing asset inflation so owning real assets (like real estate & gold) s/d help if we see continued inflation. Do not want to sell any of my real estate and have set aside cash (sitting in Treasury Fund) to finance all the construction and/or just trade up into something already built/upgraded. Idea was to have a rental unit that would generate extra income to pay property taxes. Then could live in the unit part of the year & keep the main home rented full time.

Sounds like you are up to the challenge of doing the work. I am too old & really not that interested. After doing several remodels (nothing structural), I appreciate the time & effort to complete a job.

Our ADU plans include building a complete 2nd story over garage which will require separate utilities (water, electric and even sewer). It may be possible to have a separate APN #. FWIW, also have project in NV ( my Lake Tahoe Duplex) which I am converting to two Townhouses. This is much easier as it requires no major construction but rather only a lot split and metering separate water lines.

Life is Good as long as you have your health!
