I have been looking at the Clean Coal projects. They are mired in mindless environmental bs and misdirection. They do not need to be carbon sequestration projects, Carbon Dioxide is not a pollutant gas. All sorts of crap in there that has little or nothing to do with "Clean Coal" Technology.

Burning coal in large amounts does have all sorts of problems that could be studied and fixed today once such projects are not hamstrung with attendant BS.

Today, our economies have become dependent on China for nearly all our manufactured goods. That presents all sorts of national security issues, but beside that, it means we are still using coal power to make our manufactured goods. Does anyone in the environmental scene "twig" that fact? If you buy any goods, about one third of the power needed to manufacture the item was produced by burning coal.

No two ways about it... that is how we operate at the moment, we are definitely not "Fossil Fuel free". All such claims are twaddle. We buy all our stuff from China, it gets produced over there by burning coal, and the Chinese then ship here in containers using fossil fuels to drive the ships.

This is why I find it stupid to make additional unnecessary stipulations on regarding the generation of clean coal power. If the CO2 emitted is clean, mission accomplished. All that has to happen then is help convince the Chinese to convert, or onshore all the necessary manufacturing capacity in USA and Europe so any energy used can be produced cleanly.

Here is reality.
