It was not about the vaccine for children; it was about keeping them from being in situations where they could be infected and then bring it home and spread it to high risk folks. The vaccine did not always prevent infection but there was a significant reduction in mortality and hospitalization. Thus protecting our medical people so they could do other important work saving people. In the beginning days of Covid19 the hospitals filled up as did the morgue's. Doctors and hospital staff were dying too. Public health officials reacted the best they could. The science of Covid corrected early reactions like surface and droplet transmission. Trump really fucked it all up with his early denials and then his ignorant ideas for therapies-- before he took credit for the vaccines you reject. Trump was more interested in finding blame (Chyyyy-na) than going to war against the pandemic. Yes it originated in Wuhan but we still don't know precisely how. We can have that discussion as time goes on. I have a cousin and a good friend ("homeopath" who claims masks kill) who have been on prophylactic ivermectin since it was a thing. Both have had at least two bouts of Covid eand it lasted weeks longer than when I, vaccinated, had it. Anecdotal. Science is a process, not a certainty like religions and cults. It gets better based on empirical data. We know a lot more now, the deniers will continue to deny. Adoption of truth takes time. Like smoking, like lead in fuel. We will get there.
