HI Jon,

I appreciate the posts on the CVX Hess deal.

Any thoughts on how this resolves?

CVX pats XOM and CNOOC or does XOM and CNOOC buck up and buy out Hess as well.

XOM has done the management , and probably has the drilling data regarding the sweet spots. That's nice ace card to have.

At the least XOM and CNOOC get some serious cash from CVX (which has it).

Deal goes away and Hess gets almost 2 billion and more than likely talks to XOM and CNOOC.

If XOM tries to buy Hess interest, would that bring in Khan and her antitrust view of no big companied getting bigger - I suspect so.

It will be interesting to see it evolve.

Thanks for keeping us up to date.

I have positions in both CVX and XOM. Much more aligned to XOM however.

I'd love to have more of both on any dip.

Bob
