The 30 bar rule is a trade management rule. If it hasn't hit the T1 in 30 bars after the terminal bar and confirmation. The odds of the pattern working start dropping and you need to get defensive.

The pattern will never erase after it has confirmed. That takes a closing bar higher that the terminal bar in a bullish pattern. The only time the pattern will erase is if the HOP is overrun before the pattern confirms.
