You answered your own question (in the first sentence) as to why one should be pro choice for others regardless of one's personal beliefs: Separation of Church ( religion) from State.

Also, I want to emphasize that just because almost half of Americans do not attend regular religious services, does not mean that they don't believe in G-d and do prayer at home. One can be quite religious and not go to Church, Temple, Mosque or Cathedral. One thing has nothing to do with another. The post I made with a link to the percentage of Americans attending religious services is by no means a post in favor of atheism, agnosticism or any disrespect to G-d. Far from it.
