If we plant Giant Sequoia's, those trees last for about 3000 years, and are resistant to normal forest fires.

That would lock up all the CO2 that Rat and Eric are worried about.

They will be a handy source of firewood in 3000 years time, and we will need plenty of them as we slide further into the next Ice Age.

I would not rely on CO2 for keeping us warm, the science behind that is questionable to say the least.
