SOX/CRB ratio made a multi-year impulsive rally which topped out in late 2020. Still not entirely clear whether the decline from that top was a correction, or a long term trend change.

You can see how trend following is not a very good system during major bull runs. Those MA’s made a couple of whipsaws along the way. What to do about it? Going to a longer time frame (like, monthly charts) and/or longer ma’s may help. Fewer whipsaws - but, usually, larger risk when they happen.

One benefit of Trend Following is that you’ll never be wrong for too long.
