Trump added that the European autocrat is “a noncontroversial figure because he said, ‘This is the way it’s going to be,’ and that’s the end of it, right? He’s the boss and … he’s a great leader, fantastic leader. In Europe and around the world, they respect him.” I fail to see the humor here.
Besides, I thought Trump "tells it like it is." Does he really believe that Orban is "non-controversial" simply because of the autocratic power he has?
Or is this another thing that I'm taking "too literally"?
More likely is that, on a certain level, you know what Trump is saying is cringeworthy, and therefore you have to make shit up to defend it.
