I know that right wing nonsense of we are a Republic not a democracy.

It is just like the Republicans claiming Lincoln, who was a hard core liberal of his day and today would be a Democrat.

But I digress, we are a Republic, as is every democracy in the world i.e. they all have constitutions and representative governments.

And I know that the pioneers of democracy the ancient Greeks, Plato, Socrates and Aristotle, feared the democracy of the unwashed masses!

But it seems representative democracy, with a constitution, is a terrible form of government----except for all others-lol!

PS--and for the record, this country was never a democracy and may Odin grant it never will be. The founding fathers went to great length to avoid it. They feared democracy even more than they did the king of England!
