Electro Scientific Industries Announces a $3.1 Million Order for MLCC Test Equipment
PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Electro Scientific Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: ESIO) announced an order from a major Japanese supplier of electronic components for multiple Model 3300 Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitor (MLCC) Testers and Model 3001 IR MLCC Testers to be used throughout Japan. All units will ship in ESI's third quarter ending February 28, 1998.
"As a result of the highly competitive nature of passive components, our customer needed to lower their cost to manufacture. Our equipment will allow them to increase throughput and test functionality which will lower their overall cost," said Ted Hasegawa, President of ESI Japan. "In addition to the high throughput and accuracy, the Model 3300 will allow them to meet the increased demand for the new, very small parts -- 0603 and 0402."
The Model 3300 multi-function tester offers the most flexibility and highest performance MLCC production tester available. The Model 3001 IR is a fully automated flash and insulation resistance tester.
