The difference between a Democrat and a RINO is Dems stab you in the chest and RINO's stab you in the back.

Colorful way to put it and I take your point. As far as it goes.

I realize that it has become quaint if not verboten for Republicans to focus on policy. Didn't even have a platform the last time 'round. Instead, it was and continues to be whatever Trump is feeling from moment to moment. RINOs would have had a platform. And they would have melded that with the center left (the two components of the uniparty) and come up with some programs that nobody would love but in which everybody could find some steps forward. And there would linger at least a whiff of human dignity rather than carnage and/or dystopia.

If OTOH you frame it as binary, MAGA vs ROW, what you effectively concede is that MAGA is a cult of personality because the substance of policy and governance have withered away and what we have is the man and his entourage. The only way anything gets done in that environment is for the movement to go full authoritarian and take over. So much for liberty. So much for comity.

Oh, wait. Some bipartisan things did get done in the last few years. Immigration sadly couldn't get over the finish line but infrastructure and western civilization found some traction. Imagine that. The spirit of the uniparty remains weakened but alive.

In common parlance, "Ami]erica first" would be about acting in our enlightened best interest, not about assuming a screw-you swagger and pushing.
