Rod -

Thanks for the response to my questions. I'm still a bit unclear on certain points, though.

>>Again, let me clarify: I believe a brittle design and/or troubled manufacturing process lies at the heart of the well-publicized dispute between Iomega and certain cartridge makers.<<

Sorry, but this is about as clear as mud. What well-publicized dispute are you talking about? Are you saying that Iomega's reports that Nomai's XHD disks don't meet their standards are because Iomega itself has a manufacturing problem? I should point out that Iomega's own disks pass all the tests to which they have subjected XHD disks. Since Iomega Zip disks don't have a problem and Nomai's do, I don't see how this can be attributed to "brittle design."

>>I wasn't aware of the court battles, press reports or Iomega's own admissions when I posted a matter-of-fact concern about reliability problems. I don't have to tell you how ferocious the response was and the pretext of those rebuttals that I was simply out in left field and that there was nothing whatsoever to it.<<

Rod, let's be serious. What you posted could not be described as a matter-of-fact concern. You stated that the Zip drive was "the least reliable product ever" and that the question wasn't open to debate. That is far from being matter of fact. It is so over-the-top as to be hysterical. To top it off, you essentially called most of the people on this thread crazy and/or stupid. I don't see why you should be surprized that you got some heated responses.
