Unfortunately, there is a fine line between "spicing up a little" and obnoxiousness. You can't convince me that no one would creatively abuse the feature!

The idea we've tossed around in the past is to allow people to compose pages entirely in html, but make it appear as an attachment to the message (e.g. "View the attached page for my full color report") so that it doesn't distract (or crash the browser of) people who are hitting previous/next.
