NATO had a wake up call, and was depending too much on the US.

Both the US and NATO seeing Russia starting to push back the Ukrainians for lack of ammunition and weapons really got scared, and are now pouring arms and ammunition into Ukraine, including new state of the art stuff.

NATO and the US know they cannot allow Russia to win for myriad reasons e.g. they know Russia will destroy Ukraine as a country if they win, including massive persecution and obliteration of everything Ukraine.

Putin sees Ukraine as part of Russia and Ukrainians as traitors. To be punished.

Putin wants to reestablish the historical soviet union and sees countries like Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova (that is next), etc as part of Russia and he is liberating them.

So in a nutshell, NATO and the US will not allow Russia to win.

PS this is sort of like our civil war i.e. General Mcclellan was so worried about his troops he would not fight with his full force, so Lincoln fired him and hired general Grant who threw the entire economic and and military force at the south and crushed them.

Lincoln said:" finally a general who will fight.

The US is now providing the long range ATACMS to Ukraine which means they can hit any Russian target on their territory and the west is pouring in all sorts of drones Ukraine will send in to blow up oil refineries and military support.

And a lot of aircraft.

And NATO and other western countries are contributing billions of dollars, 110 billion from NATO and or EU alone!?
