You cannot count God out.
I would go further. His plans will not be thwarted.
We can be assured of this regardless of undesirable outcomes for this nation.

A prophet for our times: Habakkuk.

He complained about wickedness in his nation and effectively said: 'God, you're doing nothing. You're ignoring gross injustice.'

Then God's solution: The Chaldeans attack.

Then Habakkuk says: 'How can you use someone way more wicked than our nation, to punish us?"

Then Habakkuk undergoes what might be a transformation of perspective ... and leans into God in faith.

As much as I am thankful to have grown up in this country it is possible that it has come under divine judgement. All nations are temporary.

I pray for and desire restoration, but God's plans are His to know and execute.

There's that central verse in Habakkuk, quoted by the apostle Paul: "But (However) the righteous shall live by faith ..."
