When I was in Amsterdam last week, I was on a guided tour in the city. I was lagging behind everyone because of my weak knees and I needed a cane to help keep me upright. The group was well ahead of me while walking through a pubic park. They were using the walkways and the only way I was going to catch up was to cross the grass fields where people were having a picnic or playing futbol (soccer to sports heathens).

One of the football games had the ball kicked well out of play. They would have had a long way to catch up to the ball so I started limping along to prevent the ball from going forward, I used my cane to stop the ball's progress.

Once I got control of the ball, in the spirit of European football, I kicked the ball back to them. They loved it, they started cheering and yelling bravo. The tour group I was with started cheering as well and I almost started chanting USA, USA, USA but then remembered where I was and kept quiet and simply took a victory lap.

I now have officially played soccer in Netherlands, How cool is that?
