We're up in the mts, northeast of Seattle, and there is little to no ambient light where we live. And although we missed it last night, we saw photos and videos of the event that were taken from our neighborhood, and they were incredible. Every person we met today said the same thing...that it was an amazing sight. They described the colors and said they ranged from purple, to red, to green. They also said there were periods of undulations and shimmering within the lights.

One girl said at one point the fir trees seemed to be illuminated.

I'm staying up late, in the hope that there is a repeat performance tonight.
