Harshu- With Michael Burry you have to take his activity with a grain of salt given his portfolio turnover being very high. The purchase was likely due to liquidity concerns on the momentum created by the recent escalation in Israel.

As for the windfall tax BP does not break down revenue by type so it is hard to determine the fairness and it is applied to production in the UK. For example at the time I looked natural gas is priced at $7.30 per MMBTU in the UK where it is only $2.41 in the USA. A gas producer in the UK would realize much more cash flow with the tax than one operating in the USA.
