That goes along with the fact that a large percentage of Americans are very uninformed.

I'm not sure it's political as much as we live in the United States of Entertainment and many people know more about what Taylor Swift or the Kardashians are up to rather than the latest real news.

Have you ever seen any man-on-the-street type interviews where they ask passersby basic questions about how the U.S. government works or who certain famous people are? It's very shocking. Many couldn't tell you how many U.S. senators there are or could not name the president when shown a picture of them, but you show them a picture of someone in the entertainment world and they know immediately.

Jay Leno used to do those segments (called "Jaywalking") when he hosted the Tonight Show decades ago. I've seen more recent ones too and it's only gotten worse.

Our local and national news has been reduced to very short story segments with sound bites instead of in depth investigations. Most people don't even watch that. Reportedly, a huge percentage of young people get their "news" from TikTok and think that qualifies as real news.
