Yes, the printing press advantage inevitably comes to an end. I do think US has political crisis because of people of advanced retirement age ruling the country, just like the Soviet Union. In the Soviet Union the system and the country collapsed only AFTER the mindless people died in Office and younger Gorby came to power. The system collapse was set in motion decades prior. Brezhnev term was kind of the golden era for the Soviet Union, commodities and gold were high, the state kept inflation at zero, you could buy crap even if not
up to western standards, Soviet Union was a superpower, and the dictator Stalin was gone. Your job was 100% secure. The electric outlets still had KGB ears and phones of important people were tapped.
