The Dixiecrats have never controlled the policy of the Democrats for the last 100 years.

They were sort of hangers on, left over from the days when the liberals were Republicans; and until they fled in 1964 because the liberals took their institutional segregation racism away from them.

Then they fled to the dirt bag Republicans that wooed them with dog whistle assurances they would not help with integration! Lee Atwood's Southern strategy.

The modern Democratic party starts with FDR who defined it, and every president or nominee since has been a very intelligent progressive person who fought for the people's needed social programs, the poor, needy and the environment.

Every single Republican president since has been a know nothing like Ike and Ford, or a monster like Nixon, Reagan, Bush and Trump!

The Republican party has never fought for the poor, sick, elderly, minorities or middle class, in the last 100 years.

Only the Democrats have done that for the last 100 years.

And that is the point.

All Ike did was allow the Republican party to stand in the way of social progress, and help enrich the rich.
