Personally I'm against gas taxes which are regressive. They don't hurt people driving 500hp cars. They hurt people driving 20 year old sedans. I'm a proponent of luxury taxes which make sense in so many ways. Punish waste. Not regressive. I don't think they'll be able to tax me if I've got unconnected solar. Probably at charging stations. Probably for new vehicles. CA is expensive but not *THE* most expensive place to live. I've looked all around... I cannot find a better place than where I'm going. One reason I like to car camp. I take trips for pleasure and to scout. I certainly would not live in the Baghdad by the Bay even though my family goes back there to before the turn of the century. Its turned to a shit place full of greedy inconsiderate people with no cogent philosophy of life. Kiplinger says CA = #9 Ya gotta pay for quality of life. The cheapest states are cheap for a reason. Mostly MAGA states. Ugh... ONE big part of quality of life are the people. There are two reasons I chose my area to go to over other beautiful places... people are one... like Utah rivals CA in natural beauty but the culture there is ugly.
