Like I said... don't get connected to the grid. Duh.

> that would force renters

Renters are going to be screwed. Rich people with rooftop will, as per usual do way better. If you have 10 or 20 grand you'll be able to run a pretty big home and an electric vehicle.

True. Would you like CA to abandon maintaining the roads?

Personally I'm against gas taxes which are regressive. They don't hurt people driving 500hp cars. They hurt people driving 20 year old sedans.

I'm a proponent of luxury taxes which make sense in so many ways. Punish waste. Not regressive. Nobody needs a yacht.

> California will still find more ways to tax you for whatever reasons they can make up.

That sounds like a prediction from a 34 person. I don't think they'll be able to tax me if I've got unconnected solar.

Probably at charging stations. Probably for new vehicles. CA is expensive but not THE most expensive place to live. I've looked all around... I cannot find a better place than where I'm going. One reason I like to car camp. I take trips for pleasure and to scout. I certainly would not live in the Baghdad by the Bay even though my family goes back there to before the turn of the century. Its turned to a shit place full of greedy inconsiderate people with no cogent philosophy of life.

Kiplinger says CA = #9

Ya gotta pay for quality of life. The cheapest states are cheap for a reason. Mostly MAGA states. Ugh... ONE big part of quality of life are the people. There are two reasons I chose my area to go to over other beautiful places... people are one... like Utah rivals CA in natural beauty but the culture there is ugly.
