Reducing unnecessary consumption is incremental and additive.
So is driving back to my house just because I forgot my reusable bags.

Or forcing grocery stores to offer paper bags instead of plastic, even though it takes more energy to make paper bags.

Every regulation has side effects. Just because you feel like you're doing something for the planet doesn't mean you really are.

I'd rather spend my time and energy supporting efforts like the following:



Not only that, but I'd also rather spend our efforts trying to give poor villages all across the world basic garbage service. (And at the same time not have their corrupt-ass governments become addicted to outside help.)
