Taiwan Semiconductor's May sales surge 30%

  • Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing's (NYSE: TSM) revenue for May rose 30.1% year-over-year to NT$229.62B (about $7.1B), helped by booming demand for AI products.
  • TSM — which produces chips for some of the world's largest tech companies including Apple ( AAPL), Nvidia ( NVDA) and AMD ( AMD) — saw a month-over-month decline of 2.7%, as it generated revenue of NT$236.02B in April.
  • Revenue for the five months, January through May 2024, amounted to NT$1.058T, rising 27.2% compared to the same period in 2023.
  • In May, the company had said that it expects an annual revenue growth of 10% for the global semiconductor industry, excluding memory chips.
