CYMI-- Acquisition by a litho producer???
An amplification of your post #14811.

Given: CYMI's laser is a critical component in a DUV litho system.
Problems: IF any of the litho producers pounced on CYMI and acquired it, it would be a very hard sell for that litho system house to market the laser as a separate component to it's competitors. The issues are as simple as getting the service engineers into the competitor's factories for integration, start-up and test to the complex issues of working with your competitors on advanced litho system designs. Also the house that bought CYMI would keep the best and latest laser designs for their own production. Does not add up. I also believe the DOJ would have a very strong opinion if CYMI lasers were not available to all the litho houses as well as anyone else who wants one, as CYMI has a current lock on the market for DUV laser sources.
AMAT will probably acquire a litho system supplier sooner or later to round out its "front end" system capabilities. <eom>
