| | | I respect the anti-war position. In my family one brother was in the Navy, one was in the police, and I was a pacifist. Even so, I worked for several years in the defense industry, developing the weapons of war, such as GPS when it was secret, and other things that are still secret. It was sort of a fence-sitting technique, because unlike my reputation I do try to see most sides of an issue before my opinions get fossilized.
I can see how Casey became disillusioned, There never should have been a "war" in Afghanistan , that should have been a severe police action against the international criminals in Bin Laden's organization. I fully blame Dick Cheney for the war and it's consequences. I think it's very dangerous that the military, the courts, and congress all seem to just do whatever the Whitehouse wants no matter how brainless it is. |
